  • 1 lb ground beef (lean)
  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll mixture into golf-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes until browned.
  5. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add onion; sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes). Stir in crushed tomatoes and oregano; simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Once meatballs are cooked, add them to the sauce and let them simmer together for an additional five minutes.
  7. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain and serve topped with meatballs and sauce.
