  • 4 ounces chopped bittersweet baking chocolate
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups divided semi-sweet chocolate chip chunks
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped bittersweet chocolate and butter until smooth; remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until combined. Add vanilla and melted chocolate mixture; mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour and cocoa powder before gradually adding to the wet ingredients; stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chip chunks (reserve half for topping).
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle remaining chocolate on top, and bake for about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
