  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine panko bread crumbs and milk; let soak.
  3. Sauté onions in butter until fragrant; add minced garlic and cook briefly.
  4. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, egg, soaked bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, sautéed onions, and garlic; shape into a loaf on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes; prepare sauce by mixing ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar.
  6. After 40 minutes, spread the sauce on top and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
