  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 12 tbsp milk (as needed for consistency)

  • Pinch of salt (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Incorporate the egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Chill the dough for at least one hour before shaping into balls and placing them on prepared baking sheets.
