- 1 stick Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 2 cups Confectioner’s Sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- Purple Gel Food Coloring
- Black Decorating Frosting
- Preheat oven to 200°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, beat room-temperature egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy.
- Gradually add sugar while increasing mixer speed until stiff peaks form.
- Pipe mounds onto the baking sheet for ghosts and bake for 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, prepare buttercream by mixing softened butter, confectioner’s sugar, milk, and food coloring until smooth.
- Frost cooled cupcakes with purple buttercream and decorate meringue ghosts with black frosting for eyes and mouths.
